MICHAEL KOHL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Missouri City, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, November 15 to Sunday, November 21. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 6)
Kohl earned two victories and two runner-up finishes at the Tiger Invite this weekend. He posted an NCAA B cut time of 44.90 to win the 100 freestyle on Sunday night. The sophomore started the weekend with a first place time of 20.62 in the 50 freestyle. He also finished second in the 200 free (1:40.34) and the 100 back (51.46) on Saturday. Kohl also swam on all four of the Tigers’ winning relays. He split a 20.30 in the 200 freestyle relay (1:23.18). Kohl raced to a 50.27 leading off the school record setting 400 medley relay (3:21.58). He opened the 200 medley relay (1:31.79) with a 23.31 backstroke leg, and ended the weekend with a 45.42 anchor leg on the 400 freestyle relay (3:03.73).
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Jaxon Batten of McMurry finished eighth in the 1650 free in a time of 17:53.49, and finished 12th in the 500 free in 5:01.92. (PB). Batten also finished 11th in the 200 fly in 2:06.90 and led the McMurry roster in all three events. First-year Collin Ralston of Colorado College set two new Colorado College school records at the Wabash Invitational. He won the 200 breast in a new record of 2:05.83 and was second in the 100 breast setting a new CC record of 57.11.
