LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Scholar All-America teams for 2022, with more than 731 collegiate swimming and diving programs, representing 441 institutions earning the honor, including five men's and five women's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.
The 10 SCAC programs recognized is the most since the league saw 14 honored back in 2010.
Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring grade point averages and represent 17,845 student-athletes.
Colorado College had both teams earn the honor for the 12th consecutive year. The CC women paced all SCAC programs with a 3.73 GPA, while the men’s team was the top make program with a 3.62 GPA. Trinity University earned recognition for both the men’s and women’s program for the sixth time in a row, while Southwestern University saw both its men’s and women’s program honored for the second time in the last four years. The Austin College men’s and women’s program received top academic honors for the second time in the last three years.
McMurry University and University of the Ozarks (AR) rounded out the SCAC squads that secured recognition as the War Hawks’ men’s team was honored, while the Eagle’s women’s program received academic accolades.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation’s first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
