MICHAEL KOHL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Missouri City, Txas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Friday, January 20 to Sunday, January 22. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 11)
Kohl led off the Tigers' 200 medley relay on Saturday with a 23.97 50 backstroke split. He was runner up to Division I Incarnate Word in the 100 backstroke with a 52.09. Kohl was also the top finishing Trinity swimmer in the 100 freestyle with his 47.85, and posted the Tigers' fastest split on the 200 freestyle relay, swimming a 21.18.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Caleb Peimann of Colorado College was a part of six event wins at the CC Classic Invitational, taking top honors individually in both the 100 back (53.58) and 50 free (22.18) as well as being a part of the winning 400 medley relay (53.99 backstroke), 400 free relay (48.6), 200 free relay (21.5) and 200 medley relay. Senior Sam Anderson of Southwestern won the 100 breast in a time of 59.51 and the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.15 in the Pirates' dual meet against UT-Permian Basin. First-year JonAustin Blaine of Austin College was part of four first place finishes as the 'Roos defeated Centenary in a dual meet over the weekend. Blaine posted individual wins in the 50 and 100 backstroke as well as the 50 butterfly, and was also part of Austin College's winning 200 medley relay team. First-year Jameson Feeney of Centenary won the 50 breast in a season-best time of 32.60 and earned a runner-up finish in the 200 IM with another season-best time of 2:21.40 at Saturday's dual meet against Austin College.
