The Tigers fired second round team score of 299 and sit in 14th at 13-over par (589) after 36 holes, while the Celts are one spot behind in 15th after finishing day two with a score of 298 and a cumulative 14-over par (590). Methodist and Piedmont sit tied atop the leaderboard after posting identical two-day scores of 573, 3-under par, 16 and 17 shots ahead of Trinity and St. Thomas respectively. Following the second of the four-round championship, the field was cut to the top-18 teams and this year marks the first time since 2014 the SCAC has had two schools qualify into the final two rounds.

Individually St. Thomas’ Jonathan Miller continues to pace all SCAC athletes after turning in a second-round score of 75 to sit tied for 14th overall with a two-round total of 143 (-1). Miller has been strong on the par 3s, currently tied for first in the whole field with a 2.75 scoring average and his 10 total birdies overall is tied for second best. The SCAC has four athletes in the top-25 heading into the final two rounds as St. Thomas’ Cade Kiser and Trinity’s Daniel Nunez and Jacob Mason join Miller in that group as all three are tied for 25th with identical two-day totals of 145 (+1). Nunez and Mason shot 74 and 73 respectively in the second round and have combined to finish -4 on the par 5s through the first two days. Kiser carded a second round of 73 and his eight birdies through two days is tied for 19th best in the field.

The two SCAC individuals competing for medalist honors in Southwestern’s Christian Rodriguez and Schreiner’s Zhao Yung Gu saw their seasons come to a close following the midway-point cutoff after both came up short of being one of the top six individuals not on one of the 18 advancing teams to move on to the final two rounds.

Rodriguez finished just two shots outside the individual cut line after firing a two-day total of 147 (72-75) to post +3. He finished the two days with six birdies. Yung Gu posted scores of 74 and 80 to finish 10-over par with a two-day total of 154.
