Meese led Trinity's men's soccer team to a pair of victories to close out the regular season over the weekend, earning critical points in the standings to qualify for the SCAC Tournament. Meese had a weekend hat trick along with an assist in the two games, as Trinity defeated St. Thomas 4-2 on Friday, then closed the regular season with a 6-1 win over Centenary. Meese notched a pair of goals against the Celts on Friday, putting the Tigers in front early and then equalizing with his second goal after UST took the lead early in the second half. Meese then assisted on the game-winner in the 62nd minute of play. He also added a second-half goal against Centenary to close out the season.
Sophomore midfielder Connor Webster of Colorado College had three goals as the Tigers wrapped up a perfect SCAC regular season with wins at Austin College and Dallas last weekend. He recorded his first career brace against Dallas in the finale. Senior forward Mofe Ariyo of Southwestern scored a key goal in the Pirates’ 2-1-win last Saturday at Texas Lutheran to secure a spot in this upcoming weekend’s conference tournament. Mofe closes the regular season with a career-high five goals and 16 points this year.
