SUWANEE, Ga. – Trinity University junior guard Jacob Harvey was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of December 31st, it was announced by D3hoops.com.
Harvey led the No. 9 Tiger men’s basketball team to a pair of wins at the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas last week, defeating Clark University (MA) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (CA). Harvey averaged 27.0 points per game on 50 percent shooting (15-of-30) overall and 63.2 percent (12-for-19) from three-point range. In the 84-83 win over Clark, Harvey nailed the game-winning three-pointer with less than 30 seconds left. He followed his late-game heroics with a career-high 33 points in the win over Pomona, knocking down 9-of-13 three-pointers to tie Trinity’s all-time record for three-pointers in a game. He is just the third SCAC men’s athlete to knock down nine or more three-point field goals in a single game since 2010. Harvey was named to the D3hoops.com Classic All-Tournament Team for his efforts.
On the season, Harvey is currently first in the SCAC with 40 three-point field goals made and ninth in the league averaging 14.9 points per game. Harvey’s efforts have help lift the Tigers to the best start in SCAC history at 14-0. The 14-straight wins to open the season break the previous conference best of 13 set by St. Thomas at the start of the 2019-20 season.
Harvey is the second Trinty Tiger to earn national recognition, joining first-year forward Christian Green who was named to the D3hoops.com National TOTW last month in week four of the 2023-24 season.
