SCAC Announces Men's Soccer Tournament Bracket

SUWANEE, Ga. -- The seeds and pairings are now set for the 2022 SCAC Men's Soccer Tournament following the completion of the regular season schedule on Sunday, October 30. Regular season champion Trinity University earned the top seed to next weekend's even with a 6-1-1 conference mark and 19 total points to sit alone at the top of the table. The Tigers secured its second straight regular season title and the program's seventh overall since the league began recognizing regular season champions in 2014 after playing Colorado College to a scoreless draw at home Friday night. Trinity, who has captured an SCAC record seven Tournament Titles, will be in search of its first since 2018.

Southwestern University, with a 6-2-0 league record and 18 points, secured the second seed after a pair of weekend victories over Austin College (2-1) and Dallas (2-1). The Pirates, who have played in the last 12 postseason events, are looking to return to the SCAC Tournament final for the first time since 2018 and fourth time overall. The two-seed is a program-high, equaling the 2013 and 2020/21 squads that equaled that achievement.

The University of St. Thomas earned the three seed after defeating Centenary, 7-2, on Saturday and finishing with 17 points with a 5-1-2 league mark. The Celts enter this year's championship tournament riding a league-high five-match winning streak and will look to be the first program to win back-to-back conference tournaments Trinity wrapped up its impressive seven tournament win streak in 2018.

Rounding out the field in the 2022 SCAC Tournament is Colorado College, who had to settle for the fourth seed after draws against Trinity (0-0) and Schreiner (1-1) over the weekend. The Tigers finished with 16 points following a 4-0-4 conference mark. CC has qualified for the postseason conference tournament each of the last 12 years and advanced to the title match four times over that stretch.

Austin College will serve as host of this year's event, which is scheduled to open on Friday, November 4 at 5 p.m. CT when No. 1 Trinity takes on No. 4 Colorado College in the opening semifinal fixture. The second semifinal is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT between No. 2 Southwestern and No. 3 St. Thomas. The two semifinal winners will meet on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.

The seeds for this year's men's tournament are as follows:
1) Trinity (6-1-1; 19 points)
2) Southwestern (6-2-0; 18 points)
3) St. Thomas (5-1-2; 17 points)
4) Colorado College (4-0-4; 16 points)

The winner of the SCAC Men's Soccer Tournament earns an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III National Championship, which begins the following weekend.
