BAILEY MEYER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore defender from Southlake, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 11th.
Meyer preserved Trinity’s longstanding conference regular-season winning-streak with a clutch goal in the final seconds of the Tigers’ double-overtime victory at Centenary Saturday night. The sophomore defender was also a critical component of Trinity’s back line that stifled the Ladies’ offense to just five shots in just under 110 minutes of play, only two of which were on frame.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Hanna Sanderson of Southwestern anchored a backline that posted its fourth-straight shutout in a 4-0 win against St. Thomas last Tuesday. Senior defender Madison Murphy of Texas Lutheran played 87 minutes in the Bulldogs’ 4-0 shutout against Schreiner last Saturday. TLU limited the Mountaineers to just four total shots on the afternoon.
