Josie Napoli, Trinity University, Player of the Week (Week 10)

JOSIE NAPOLI OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior guard from Beaverton, Ore., has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 14. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 10)

Napoli led the Tigers to a pair of SCAC home wins over the weekend, defeating both St. Thomas and Centenary by more than 25 points each to remain tied atop the conference standings. Napoli averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.0 steals per game over the weekend, shooting 56.5% from the field and 56.3% from three-point range. She scored 12 points to go with eight assists, four steals, and four rebounds to open the home stand, then exploded for a 27-point night during which she hit 8-of-10 overall from the field and went 7-for-8 from three-point range. Her seven three-pointers tied a school single-game record, which is the second time this season she has equaled Trinity's all-time mark.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard TaNyjah Plumber of Centenary averaged 12.5 points per game in the Ladies’ two games last weekend at Schreiner and Trinity. She played 33 minutes against the Mountaineers, going 4-for-9 from beyond the arc with 14 points, six rebounds, and a steal and then played 39 minutes at Trinity and finished with 11 points and nine rebounds. She has now scored in double figures nine times this season and done so in six-straight games. Senior guard Audrey Bayston of Colorado College had a historic weekend en route to leading the Tigers to a 2-0 trip to Austin College and Dallas. Bayston became the 15th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points in the process as she led the team in scoring with 17.5 points per game while averaging nine boards per contest. Bayston scored 17 against Dallas to reach the 1,000-point milestone, and is currently 15th on the all-time scoring list for CC. The two wins over the weekend moved the Tigers to first place in the conference standings as they are riding a seven-game winning streak, the longest in the SCAC. Junior guard Demauria Miles of Schreiner led the Mountaineers to a pair of SCAC home wins last weekend, knocking off Centenary and St. Thomas. Miles averaged 13.0 points, on 34.8 percent shooting and added 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game. The weekend was highlighted by Miles eclipsing the 1,000-career point mark, becoming just the second Mountaineer to reach that milestone since Schreiner joined the SCAC prior to the 2013-14 season.
