NATALIE ANDERSON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from San Jose, Calif., has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 11 through Sunday, December 17. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 6)

Anderson led No. 10 Trinity to a pair of home wins in SCAC play over the weekend, defeating both Austin College and Dallas to improve to a perfect 4-0 in league play. Anderson averaged 16.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game over the two victories, adding 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game to her stat line. She connected on 86.7 percent (13-of-15) from the field and 75 percent (6-for-8) from the free throw line, and did all her damage despite averaging just 22.5 minutes per game. In Saturday's win over Dallas, Anderson had her best game of the weekend with 21 points and 20 rebounds, shooting 8-for-9 from the field and 5-for-6 from the line. She is the just the eighth Tiger player ever to score 20 points and 20 rebounds in the same game, though she is the first to do so since the 2007-08 season. This season, Anderson is leading Trinity with 18.8 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game, as well as shooting a team-best 63.6 percent (63-for-99) from the field.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore center Brooklyn Matthews of Austin College led the ‘Roos to a key overtime win at Schreiner and had a strong weekend, averaging 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks-per-game. She poured in 18 points and grabbed nine boards against the Mountaineers, and for the weekend shot 76.9 percent from the field to help the 'Roos go 1-1. Junior center Zoe Tomlinson of Colorado College added another two double-doubles over the weekend in SCAC contests against Texas Lutheran and Southwestern. Additionally, she was one rebound shy of a third double-double at Lewis and Clark. She is currently first in the conference in rebounds per game (12.0), third in FG percentage (57.3) and fourth in ppg (15.9). Senior guard Hayden Morin of St. Thomas led the Celts to a pair of wins last week, including an impressive 27-point win over Centenary. Morin averaged 18.0 points on 56.5 percent shooting and added 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 0.5 blocks per contest. Sophomore guard Lauren Sansano of Texas Lutheran finished just two points shy of her career high; scoring 22 points on 66 percent shooting and adding three assists as the Bulldogs defeated Colorado College in Colorado for the first time since 2019 and improved to 8-2 on the season.
