SARA FLYNN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior right side from Seattle, Wash., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 17 through Sunday, October 23. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 8)
Flynn led the fourth-ranked Tiger volleyball team to a 4-0 SCAC Crossover weekend sweep, remaining unbeaten atop the SCAC standings. Flynn hit an outstanding .587 with 29 kills and just two errors over 46 attempts this weekend, improving her hitting percentage to .372 this season. She hit over .600 in two of the four matches - including a .615 clip against the team's toughest opponent of the weekend in Colorado College. In that match, she tallied eight kills in 13 attempts without making an error. Flynn also had eight blocks over the weekend - half of which came against Colorado College to give her an average of 1.00 blocks/set in that match.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outside hitter Isabella Lipacis of Colorado College averaged 4.8 kills per set in leading the Tigers to a 3-1 week in SCAC play. The league's leader in kills, she had a match-high 21 in CC's 3-1 loss to fourth-ranked Trinity. First-year outside hitter Audrey Cataline of St. Thomas had an impressive 31 kills and a total of 42.5 total points on the week as the freshman contributed for a total of 4.3 points per set and helped the Celts to 3-0 on the week, which included an upset win over Southwestern.
