NEW ORLEANS, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its men’s and women's team academic awards and eight different conference programs received recognition.
The Colorado College men, led by interim head coach Alex Nichols, posted the highest GPA among conference teams at 3.618 to garmer All-Academic honors and ranked 19th among the 180 men's programs who received recognition. Three other conference men's teams earned All-Academic honors including Southwestern University, led by head coach Steven Cary, which posted a team GPA of 3.549, Trinity University, led by head coach Emily Daum, which posted a 3.44 GPA and University of Dallas, led by head coach Nick Schneigert, whose team posted a GPA of 3.39.
For a team to be considered for this honor, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
On the women’s side, Colorado College, coached by Alex Nichols, led the way among the four SCAC institutions receiving recognition with a team GPA of 3.864, which was the third highest of the 216 teams that were honored. University of Dallas, led by head coach Nick Schneigert, earned team honors with a 3.74 GPA, Southwestern University, led by head coach Steven Cary, followed with a 3.455 GPA and Trinity University, coached by Emily Daum, posted a team GPA of 3.298 this season.
