PEYTON BOHLINGER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Seattle, Wash., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 11 through Sunday, April 17. (SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 7)
Bohlinger jumped a new lifetime best of 1.55 meters in the High Jump to place third at the Texas A&M-Kingsville/Cactus Cup. This mark places her second in the SCAC.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior thrower Gizelle Gutierrez of Texas Lutheran had a breakthrough meet at the Charles Austin meet hosted by D1 Texas State University. She was fifth in the hammer with a PR toss of 36.97 meters, sixth in the discus with another PR effort of 33.29 meters, and ninth in the javelin with a throw of 27.13 meters. She is currently ranked in the top five for all of her throwing events, except discus in which she is ranked seventh. Junior Riley Barlage of Southwestern recorded a personal-best in the hammer throw with a 5.72-meter improvement of 38.24 meters at the Texas State Charles Austin Classic, finishing fourth behind three Division I athletes.Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
