JORDAN JURAN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Littleton, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 5 through Sunday, April 11.
Juran recorded a new personal record in the 5000m run Friday evening at the UIW Invitational of 18:25. This is now the top mark in the SCAC and placed her fourth at the meet. She also came back Saturday to run a season best 2:27 in the 800.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Lily Brazil of Colorado College ran an altitude converted 40:15.17 in her first track 10k. This time currently ranks atop the SCAC performance listing. Freshman Grace Ebberwein of Dallas finished in fourth place out of seven athletes with a time of 43:11.87 in her 10,000 meter debut. The race included several NCAA Division II athletes. First-year Martina Caridad of St. Thomas paced the Celts in the 1500 meters, finishing in a time of 5:15 at the UIW Invitational.
