AUSTIN, Texas - Trinity University men's golfer Jacob Mason was named a Second Team Academic All-American® by the College Sports Communicators. Full Release
Mason is the fifth Tiger student-athlete to earn the honor from the CSC this school year, which is the most in one year for Trinity since 2014. He was named Academic All-District® for the second straight year, but this marks his first Academic All-American® honor. He is also Trinity's first men's golfer to win the academic honor. Mason was also this year's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Elite 19 award-winner, which is bestowed upon the men's golfer with the highest GPA in the conference while also earning a spot on the All-SCAC team during that season.
In addition to his classroom accolades, Mason is one of the most accomplished golfers in Trinity history on the course. He picked up his third straight PING All-American honor from the Golf Coaches Association of America, earning a spot on the Second Team this season. Mason qualified for the NCAA Championships as an individual for the second time in three seasons, while also leading the Tiger team to the national event last year.
