Yoshikata went 2-0 at No. 1 singles for the Celts, coming from behind to defeat Mary Hardin-Baylor's Joaquim Fernandes, 0-6, 6-0, 6-3, on Friday before topping Southwestern's Bernado Clemente, 6-1, 7-6, in conference play on Saturday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Jared Burton of Southwestern was 3-0 in singles play for the Pirates last week. He picked up victories at No. 1 against Austin College's Tate Nelson (6-2, 6-0) and Texas Lutheran's Cashton Herrera (6-1, 6-0) before defeating St. Thomas' Carson Steele, 6-0, 6-1, on the No. 6 line. Senior Alessio Azzalini of Trinity notched a strong 6-0, 6-4 top line victory over Juan Carlos Garcia of the ITA's No. 2 JUCO Tyler Junior College Friday morning. Garcia held a 12.5 Universal Tennis Rating ahead of the match. Junior Max Schechter of Schreiner picked up a pair of wins at No. 4 singles, earning three set victories over McMurry's Luis Avila (4-6, 7-5, 11-9) and Hardin-Simmons' Davyn Williford (6-2, 5-7, 6-4).
