MALEA CESAR OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Portland, Ore., has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 28th through Sunday, November 3rd. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 10)
Cesar led the Tiger women's soccer team to a pair of shutout victories to close out the regular season last weekend, finishing with a perfect 10-0-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record and securing the Regular Season Championship. Cesar and Trinity's defense limited both teams to just one shot each in their respective games, collecting the 14th and 15th shutouts of the season - nine of which came in conference play .
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Kelly Wolfe of Texas Lutheran anchored a Bulldog defensive effort that sparked a perfect 2-0 weekend with wins over McMurry and Concordia at home to secure the No. 2 overall seed going into the SCAC Tournament. Additionally, Wolfe became the program’s all-time leader in games played and games started (81).
