ZEKE LUBIN OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore midfielder from Denver, Colo., has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week for games played from Monday, October 28th through Sunday, November 3rd. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 10)
Lubin had a career weekend helping lift Colorado College to the SCAC Co-Regular Season Crown and the No. 1 overall seed for the upcoming SCAC Tournament after a pair of home wins over Austin College (6-1) and Dallas (6-0). Lubin led the team with two goals and two assists. He recorded a goal and assist in each game and finished the weekend with five shots (all on net). It was the first time in his career Lubin recorded a goal and assist in back-to-back games.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Michael Grimm of Southwestern was critical in helping the Pirates secure a spot in the SCAC Tournament, dishing out three assists, including assisting on both game-winners in home wins over Concordia and a dramatic come from behind win over McMurry. Grimm closes out the regular season tied for third in the league with eight assists and seventh with 20 total points. Senior defender Louis Hart of Texas Lutheran registered five points in over the final two regular season fixtures for the Bulldogs. In a 4-1 win over McMurry at home on Friday, Hart scored the game-winning goal and added an assist and then scored the long goal in a 1-1 draw against Concordia on Sunday. Senior midfielder Louis Instrall of Trinity led the Tigers to a pair of home wins in SCAC play this weekend, finishing off the regular season schedule as the SCAC Regular Season Co-Champions. Instrall finished with a goal and three assists over the two games, moving up to a tie for second on the team with seven assists this season. Instrall assisted on the eventual game-winner against Ozarks on Friday, then added a goal of his own nearly five minutes later to put the Tigers up 2-0. On Sunday against Centenary, he had back-to-back assists in the second half to increase Trinity's lead to 3-0.
