KENDALL ACCETTA OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Portland, Ore., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 11 through Sunday, March 17. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 3
Accetta posted a pair of personal bests against competition across all divisions last weekend at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invite hosted by CSU Pueblo. Accetta won the 1,500-meters with an impressive time of 4:44.81 and took home seventh in the 800-meters, crossing the line in 2:22.45. Her time in the 1,500 currently ranks first in the SCAC and sits second nationally, while her time in the 800 is currently the sixth fastest in the conference.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Trinity Provost of St. Thomas finished fourth among competition across all divisions in the 200-meters last weekend at the TSU Relays. Her time of 25.58 is currently the fastest time in the SCAC this season. Provost also ran a leg on the 4x100 relay team that posted a conference best time of 48.87, the fifth fastest time in all of NCAA Division III so far this season. Senior Ellie Catron of Trinity ran a season best in the 3k-steplechase with a time of 11:17.25 to finish third at the Wes Kittley Invitational hosted by Abilene Christian University last weekend. Her time is currently ranked first in the SCAC and sits third best in all of NCAA Division III.
