JACK HUSSIN OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Phoenixville, Pa., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, January 15 to Sunday, January 21. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 10)
Hussin swam with success throughout a very tough line-up at the 7-team CC Classic Invitational. On the first day, Hussin swam four out of five events back to back, prelims and finals, and immediately followed with the 400 free relay. He had wins in the 200 free (1:44.13), the 200 free relay (21.80 leadoff), and the 400 medley relay anchor (46.20). He was also third in 50 free (21.89), eighth in the 100 fly (56.62), sixth in the 100 back (54.67) and second as a member of the 400 free relay at 46.40.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Michael Kohl of Trinity won four times on Saturday in the Tigers' dual meet win over Southwestern. He was first to the wall in the 200 (1:44.54) and 100 (47.60) freestyle events. In addition, Kohl led off the winning 200 medley relay with a 24.38 backstroke split, before leading off the 200 freestyle relay in 21.87. First-year Nick Gordon of Centenary picked up a pair of wins in the Gents' home meet against Austin College on Saturday. He posted a winning time of 55.58 in the 100 fly and 23.08 in the 50 free. Gordon has tallied multiple wins in a single meet on five occasions this season. Sophomore David Stanford of Austin College had four very solid swims on Saturday in dual meet action at Centenary. Stanford swam a 28.21 in the fly leg of the 200 medley relay and a 26.03 for the first-place 200 freestyle relay team. Individually, Stanford posted first place finishes for both the 100 free (55.71( and 200 fly (2:32.35). Senior Wiley Grantham of University of the Ozarks placed second in both the 1000 free (11:07.68) and 500 free (5:27.46) in Saturday's dual meet against Hendrix. Grantham also helped the men to a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.
