COURTNEY ZELL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior attacker from Seattle, Wash., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 18 through Sunday, April 24. It marks the second consecutive week she has received the honor. (Women's Lacrosse Weekly Release - Week 10)
Zell tied her career highs of six points and three assists, and scored three goals to lead Colorado College to an 18-13 victory at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in the second of back-to-back games on Saturday, April 23. She produced two goals and two assists during the second quarter when the Tigers utilized a 7-1 barrage to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 9-5 lead. In the third quarter, The junior also recorded a goal and an assist as CC used a 5-1 surge to extend its lead to 14-8. The Tigers’ 18 goals were the most allowed by UW-River Falls this season.
Zell is now tied for fourth on the team with career highs of 30 points and 20 goals, and is fifth with 10 assists, which matches her career best.
