JOSH FRY OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Bethesda, Md., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Monday, October 11 through Sunday, October 17. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 7)
Fry ran 24:59 for 8K at the Augustana (Ill.) Interregional to place 28th individually in a field that featured seven nationally ranked teams, including the No. 1 and 2 teams in the nation. The Tigers finished eighth in the 24-team field.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Andres Padron of St. Thomas continued to lead the Celts, locking in a top-ten finish (ninth) while running a 26:18 8k time at the Berry College Invitational. St. Thomas posted a third place overall finish - second amongst DIII teams. First-year Will Salony of Trinity led the Tigers in last week's Inter-Regional Rumble at Oberlin College with a 27:05.7 8k performance. The rookie overcame the rain-soaked course to finish just outside the top-50 in a field of over 300 NCAA III participants from multiple regions. Junior Thomas Lagarde of Dallas ran a 27:22 at the Bill Libby Invitational hosted by McMurry University. He placed 12th overall and beat his personal record set in 2019. Sophomore Tristan Salinas of Schreiner led the Mountaineers at the Bill Libby Invitational with a 28:37 finish as his squad finished sixth among DIII teams. First-year EJ Tongee of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs in the 8k race, posting a 44th place finish at the Canisius Alumni Classic with a time of 28:41.3.
