COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado College men's soccer senior Curtis Hale was selected as a CSC Academic All-American for the second consecutive year, announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10th. Hale was named a second-team selection and is one of nine members in Division III who are repeat honorees. Complete CSC Release
"The CSC Academic All-American award is one of the top honors to bestow upon an NCAA collegiate soccer player," head coach Scott Palguta said. "Curtis has proven to be an elite student-athlete and I am once again very proud to see him earn this recognition. He a leader on the field, in the classroom, and in the CC community. Simply, he's the best of the best."
Hale carries a 3.80 GPA and will graduate from Colorado College with a degree in Mathematical Economics. In his senior season, he was named a United Coaches All-American, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, an All-Region First Team selection and an All-SCAC First Team selection.
The Richmond, VA native played and started in all 22 matches and led the Tigers with 1,925 minutes. He racked up a career-high eight points (2g, 4a) and directed the CC defense that finished second in the nation in goals-against average (1.828).
Hale is the 10th Academic All-American selection in program history and the first player since Kyle Buchwalder (2011-12) to earn Academic All-American honors in back-to-back seniors. Buchwalder.
Hale led the Tigers to a 16-3-3 record that ended in a Round of 32 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
