KERRVILLE, Texas -- The third-seed Colorado College opened play at the Southern College Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championship with a 5-0 quarterfinal victory over the sixth-seed Austin College Friday afternoon at the H-E-B Municipal Tennis Center in Kerrville, Texas. Colorado College upped its record to 12-9 and will face second-seeded Southwestern University at 2 pm Saturday afternoon in the semifinals. Austin College finishes the 2022 campaign with a 1-13 record.
CC opened Friday's quarterfinal by sweeping all three doubles matches, cruising to victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by 8-1 and 8-0 margins, respectively. The No. 1 pairing of Andrew Kaelin and Jack Delafield completed the sweep with a hard-fought 8-7 (8-6) over Austin College's Luke Henley and Tate Nelson.
Aiden Little made it 4-0 CC when he won his No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, over the 'Roos' Henley, and Lucas Pastor clinched the match for the Tigers with a 6-1, 6-0 decision over William Dixon.

Colorado College advances to face second-seeded Southwestern University in the semifinals, currently scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at H-E-B Municipal Tennis Center. This is CC's first trip to the semifinals on the men's side since 2018, where they also faced Southwestern. Southwestern won that match in 2018 but CC holds an all-time 3-1 edge against the Pirates in SCAC tournament play.
