VINCENT MANGAT OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year runner from Boulder, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 4)
Mangat had a career day helping Colorado College finish 12th among Division III teams against top competition at the John McNichols Invitation last Saturday. The rookie posted an 8K time of 25:33.9 to finish 56th in a field that included 14 nationally ranked Division III teams. His time was a 52 second personal best and is the third fastest 8K by a first-year in Colorado College program history.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First year Miguel Hernandez of Texas Lutheran battled in hot, humid, and muddy conditions to dominate the competition at the OLLU Saint's Classic, winning his second straight race. He won the race by 38 seconds, beating out NAIA and Division II competitors. His time of 26:09.9 now marks the second fastest 8k in program history.
