It is the second consecutive year the two schools have faced on in the third-place match and CC prevailed by the same 5-1 margin as a year ago.
The Tigers held a 2-1 advantage going into singles following victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Aiden Little and Lucas Pastor secured an 8-3 win at the No. 2 doubles line, while Nick Bishop and James Andrews secured a one-point lead after doubles with an 8-6 win at the No. 3 line. The Celts Rodrigo Yoshikata and Jace Ware improved to a perfect 3-0 at the No. 1 doubles line in the SCAC Tournament by securing an 8-4 win to avoid the doubles sweep.
CC’s Little, Andrews and Bishop were all double winners for the Tigers securing singles wins and ultimately pushing Colorado College to victory. Andrews and Bishop secured quick points on the end courts as Andrews cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No. 5 line, while Bishop secured a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 6 slot. Little clinched the match for the Tigers with an impressive 6-2, 6-4 win at the top singles line.
Colorado College finishes the season with a record of 9-12, while St. Thomas finishes the 2023 campaign at 5-9.
