Webster scored in back-to-back games for the first time in his career, netting the game-winning tally in home wins over Austin College and Dallas last weekend. His efforts ensured that CC remained the lone unbeaten team in SCAC play this year going into the final weekend of the regular season. For the week, Webster doubled his career points total to eight with four points on two goals. It also marked the first game-winning goals in his young career.
Senior midfielder Michael Somerville of Trinity scored three goals in the Tigers’ win over Centenary last Sunday in Shreveport. Sophomore forward Caleb Allen of Southwestern was key for the Pirates in a critical 2-0 win over Texas Lutheran at home last Saturday. Allen drew the foul that led to the go-ahead PK and then added an assist on the insurance goal to help Southwestern secure three crucial points on the table for the Pirates. Sophomore forward Daniel Castro of St. Thomas was instrumental in the Celts securing two important wins last weekend, including handing Trinity its first SCAC loss of the year. In the win over the Tigers, Castro assisted on the opening goal and then struck for the game-winner, before following that performance up with the game-winning goal in the Celts’ 2-0 win over Schreiner on Sunday.
