JOSH FRY OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Bethesda, Md., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Monday, September 27 through Sunday, October 3. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 5)
Fry led the Tigers to a team win at the Colby Cross Country Invite with a seventh-place individual finish. His time over the 8K course was 25:36, just two seconds shy of his all-time personal best.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Andres Padron of St. Thomas placed 20th overall and was the top D3 runner at the UIW XC Invitational. Padron clocked a time of 26:03 for five miles in humid wet conditions. Junior Max Lagarde of Dallas, competing at the Chili Pepper XC Festival, ran a seasonal best of 28:26.4 placing 87th out of 256 finishers. He was third amongst all NCAA DIII competitors which consisted of athletes from all associations and divisions. First-year EJ Tongee of Texas Lutheran paced the Bulldogs finishing the 8K in 28:57.95 to finish 21st in a field spanning with runners from Division-I to Division-III and NAIA in the HOKA Invitational. Junior Marco Hernandez of Schreiner led the Mountaineers along the five mile course at the UIW invitational in San Antonio. Hernandez paced the team with a finish of 30:30.
