EDMUND DAVIS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year from Bellevue, Wash., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Friday, November 18 to Sunday, November 21. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 6)
Davis set two school records, a personal best, and an NCAA B cut at the 11 team Phoenix Fall Classic at University of Chicago. Davis swam the 1000 free in a CC record 9:38.22, he was third in the 1650 free in 15:57.41, setting another CC record, and an NCAA B cut and he swam a PR in the 500 free (4:37.16).
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Matteo Lanzara of Trinity swam a lifetime best 200 IM to 1:51.66 to win the event at this weekend's Trinity Invitational. He was also first to the wall in both backstroke events, touching in 50.00 in the 100 and 1:50.54 in the 200 backstroke. Additionally, Lanzara led off the winning 400 medley relay with a 50.19 and got the winning 200 medley relay off to a hot start with a 22.93 backstroke leg. He also anchored the B 400 and 200 freestyle relays in splits of 46.54 and 21.13, respectively. Junior Sam Anderson of Southwestern posted third place finishes at the Trinity Invitational in both the 200 IM (1:54.12) and 400 IM (4:08.02) and a fifth place finish in the 200 breast (2:07.26). He was also part of the second place 200 free relay (swimming a lead-off 21.76) and the third place 400 free relay (led off with a 46.83). Sophomore Ethan Spillers of University of the Ozarks placed seventh in the 500 free in 4:57.65, eighth in the 100 fly in 52.26, fifth in the 200 back in 1:58.37, and third in the 200 fly in 1:58.58 at the Delta State Thanksgiving Invitational. He broke school records in the 100 fly with his 52.26, the 50 back with his medley lead off leg of 24.96, the 200 back with his prelims time of 1:57.61, and the 200 fly with his prelims time of 1:58.29.
