Devon Ortman, Colorado College, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 5)

DEVON ORTMAN OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year defender from Oakland, Calif., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 14 through Sunday, March 20. (Women's Lacrosse Weekly Release - Week 5)

Ortman was a force in all three zones while helping CC post a 1-1 record against two of the top teams from the East Coast. Defensively, Ortman produced nine draw controls, eight ground balls and a caused turnover. She also added three goals and four assists. 

Ortman leads the Tigers with 29 draw controls and is third with 17 ground balls. She also leads CC with eight assists.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year midfielder Sierra Rupp of Southwestern had five ground balls, six draw controls and five caused turnovers as the Pirates went 2-1 on the week with victories over Cal Lutheran and Pacific (Ore.). Sophomore goalkeeper Kathleen Rodda of Dallas picked up the win in net in Monday’s 22-1 victory over Spalding, making two saves on three shots for a 66.7 save percentage.
