DYLAN RICH OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year midfielder from Kill Devil Hills, N.C., has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week from Monday, September 25th through Sunday, October 1st. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 5)
 
Rich was outstanding last weekend leading Colorado College to a pair of key SCAC road victories to open up conference play. On Friday, Rich registered a goal and two assists in an impressive 5-0 win over Centenary and then followed that up with the lone goal in a 1-0 win over previously unbeaten and eighth-ranked St. Thomas. It marked the first home conference loss for the Celts since 2019. The win for the Tigers was the first over a nationally ranked team since 2019. Rich finished with six points on the week behind two goals and two assists and helped lift CC to six critical points in the league standings. Thanks to the efforts of Rich, the Tigers 2-0 in league play for the first time since the shortened 2020-21 season and sit tied atop the table with TLU through the opening weekend of SCAC play.
 
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Louis Catchpole of Austin College continued his torrid season Saturday in the ‘Roos’ lone match of the week. Catchpole rang home both goals in Austin College’s 2-1 win over Dallas to open SCAC play. He now has 10 goals on the season, the first ‘Roo since Thomas Quick in 2017 to achieve double-digit goals in a single season. Junior forward Luca Cipleu of Southwestern led the Pirates to 7-0 win last Sunday over Schreiner, registering a hat trick and adding two assists for a total of eight points on the afternoon. Junior forward Sebastian Ibarola of St. Thomas recorded a brace, scoring twice in the Celts 6-0 non-conference win over Wiley last Friday night. Junior midfielder Preston Huff of Texas Lutheran scored twice and added an assist for a five-point weekend as the Bulldogs went a perfect 2-0 on the week to open up league play, including an upset of No. 11 Trinity. Sophomore midfielder Adam Knutson of Trinity continued his impressive season, scoring in the Tigers’ 4-0 win over Southwestern in Georgetown last Friday. Knutson now has six goals on the season, tied for the third most in the SCAC.
