Audrey Bayston, Colorado College, Player of the Week (Week 4)

AUDREY BAYSTON OF THE COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman guard from Alamo, Calif., has been named SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, February 5 through Saturday, February 6. 

Bayston came off the bench to average 18 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while leading Colorado College to a pair of victories at Centenary and a share of first place in the SCAC standings. During Friday’s 83-58 win, Bayston posted season highs of 21 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes of action. During Saturday’s 79-55 victory, Bayston scored 15 points, going 5-for-6 from long range, and snagged seven rebounds. For the weekend, the freshman forward shot .677 from the floor (14-21) and from three-point range (6-9). Bayston leads the Tigers with a .511 field-goal percentage and is tied for first shooting .500 (11-22) from behind the arc. She also is fourth in both scoring (10.2 ppg) and rebounding (3.8 ppg).

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior forward Reagan Chiaverini of Austin College posted double-doubles in both of ‘Roos’ games over the weekend, including scoring a career-high 22 points on Friday against St. Thomas. Chiaverini averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 48.4% from the field to help Austin College stay atop the SCAC standings with a 5-1 record. Freshman guard Addy Tremie of Centenary continued her fantastic rookie season this past weekend in a pair of SCAC home contests versus Colorado College. She scored 12 points on Friday and grabbed five rebounds. She also had three assists and a steal in 36 minutes and connected on 4 of her 10 three-point attempts. She then scored a career-high 19 on Saturday to lead all scorers. Tremie made 8 of 24 shots from the field and nailed three treys in 39 minutes. She also grabbed five rebounds and blocked a shot. Sophomore guard Beyonce Perry of Dallas averaged 11.5 points to lead the Crusaders in scoring this weekend at Schreiner University. Perry dished four assists in the team’s 54-52 win on Saturday that gave Schreiner its first loss on the year. The guard also averaged six rebounds. Senior forward Noel Pratts of Southwestern averaged 14.5 points per game to help the Pirates split their weekend series with TLU. She also averaged 5 rebounds and 4 assists, including assisting on the game-winning basket on Saturday. Sophomore guard Micayla Hamilton of St. Thomas averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.5 steals per game as the Celts split a pair of games over the weekend, including handing Austin College its first loss of the season on Friday. Sophomore guard Jayla Santa Maria of Texas Lutheran averaged 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in the Bulldogs’ weekend split on the road with Southwestern. Santa Maria had 13 points with four rebounds, four assists and three steals in Friday’s win. In Saturday’s three-point loss, she scored 15 and had five rebounds and three assists. She shot 47.8 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from the three-point line.
