Colorado College's Furman Earns SCAC Women's Track & Field Elite 19 Award

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- In a announcement made at Sunday’s conference championship, Colorado College’s Charlotte Furman was named the 2023 SCAC Women’s Track and Field Elite 19 award winner.

Stephenson, a senior from Marble Falls, Texas, currently holds a 3.942 GPA in Kinesiology (Exercise Science). At this weekend's SCAC Championship, he earned all-SCAC honors in the pole vault, finishing third after clearing 4.30 meters (14' 1 1/4"). 

Furman, a senior from Sudbury, Mass., currently holds a 3.988 GPA in Political Science. At this weekend’s SCAC Championship, she earned all-SCAC honors in the 10,000-meters, finishing second after crossing the line in 39:26.44.

Her honor marks the fifth-straight Elite 19 award in Women’s Track and Field for Colorado College. Furman joins Megan Koch who was honored three-straight years from 2020-22 and Allysa Warling who took home the inaugural accolade in 2019.

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First, Second or Third Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
