SHEKINAH OLOYEDE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Oklahoma City, Okla., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 14 through Sunday, March 20. (SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 3)
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Kaela Sawyers of St. Thomas finished the highest of any D3 athlete in the 100 meter dash at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Collegiate, taking 13th (12.99) - less than a second behind first place. First-year Arden Neff of Southwestern was the only Division III athlete at Abilene Christian’s Wes Kittley Invite to finish in the top 10 of the 400 hurdles, posting a conference-leading and personal best time of 1:07.30. First-year Caitlyn Smith of Dallas, in her second start in the 200 meters, ran a 26.70 mark narrowly missing her PR mark of 26.65 at the TSU Relays which consisted largely of NJCAA D1, NCAA D1, and NAIA teams. She is ranked fifth in conference in the event.
