GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Recent Colorado College graduate Cole Thumann was named to CoSIDA's Academic All-America At-Large Team. Thumann, a member of the men's swimming team all four years at CC, is a third-team selection.
Thumann is the third member of CC's men's swimming and diving program to receive the national award since it began in 1952, joining Kaleb Roush (2014) and Jordan DeGayner (2011 and 2012).
A native of Katy, Texas, Thumann compiled a 4.00 grade-point average and graduated on May 23 with a bachelor's degree in physics. In February Thumann was named the 2022 SCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Elite 19 award winner.
Thumann was named the school's 2022 Van Diest Award winner as the top male senior student-athlete. He won the 2020 SCAC champion in the 400-yard individual medley, earned all-conference honors each of his four seasons and is a member of the school-record 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams.
He also received several scholarships during his time at Colorado College for academic success and volunteered with Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity.
Thumann will soon begin a software engineering job at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas, and plans to attend graduate school in the future.
