MEGAN SIMONSON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Naperville, Ill., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Tuesday, January 7 to Sunday, January 12. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 9)
Simonson posted a lifetime best in the 50 free with a time of 23.99 and placed fourth during the double dual against San Diego State and Cal State East Bay on January 7. She also contributed to third place finishes on both the 200 medley and 200 free relays. Simonson anchored the 200 medley relay which placed first against CSU Pueblo and also took first place in the 50 Free contributing to a team win over CSU Pueblo on January 11.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Neely Burns of Trinity claimed four victories at Saturday's Austin College Invite. She was first to the wall in the 200 fly (2:12.26) as well as the 100 fly (1:01.19). She was also victorious in the 100 free (56.30) and led off the winning 400 medley relay for the Tigers. First-year Lexy Hulse of Austin College scored the most points for the 'Roos at their home invitational. She swam a 2:44.09 in the 200 breast and a 1:13.52 in the 100 breast In the 400 medley relay, her 100 breast split was 1:13.40, and she added a split time of 58.32 in the 400 free relay - giving the first-year 29 points at the meet.
