RICHMOND, Va. -- The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected 1,206 Swimming & Diving Scholar All-Americans for the 2021-22 year and 24 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) student-athletes were recognized. Full Release
Trinity University led the way with 13 selections, followed by Colorado College with five, Southwestern University with four and Austin College with two.
On the women’s side, Colorado College’s Kate Brush, Southwestern’s Emma Frey, Zoe Garcia, Jesse Stovall and Emma Williams and Trinity’s Emma Hagan, Meghan Magill, Katarina Partalas and Morgan Reyna all secured First Team Honors.
Austin College’s Liberty Chanin and Samantha Thiele, Colorado College’s Peyton Classon and Emma Krasemann and Trinity’s Mabel Fowler, Gabrielle Fulk and Brooklyn Fuscone all earned Second Team certificates.
On the men’s side, Nolan Anthony, Andrew Crosley, Nathaniel Early and Kendal Southwell of Trinity all were named First Team Scholar All-Americans.
Colorado College’s Collin Ralston and Aidan Richter, along with Trinity’s Konstantine Partalas and Daniel Sarman were honor with Second Team recognition.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet. The award-winners studied a multitude of subjects ranging from A (Accounting) to Z (Zoology). More than a third (35%) of all award-winners are pursuing a major in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) field. Business majors were the second-most represented with 23% of recipients followed by the social sciences (13%). The most popular majors were biology, exercise science, psychology, business administration, mechanical engineering, and finance.
