GEORGETOWN, Texas -- The third-seeded Colorado College Tigers scored a 5-0 victory over the sixth-seeded Texas Lutheran University Thursday afternoon in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championship quarterfinals at the Marvin D. Colorado College improved to 6-12 and will face the winner of second-seeded No. 2 Southwestern University and No. 7 Austin College at 3 pm Saturday afternoon in the semifinals. Texas Lutheran finishes the 2023 campaign with a 3-13 record.
Each CC doubles squad picked up a point with 8-2 victories over their respective Bulldog opponents, give the Tigers an early 3-0 lead.
Magdalene Gonzales earned the first singles point for CC with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of TLU's Victoria Gonzalez at No. 3 singles and the Tigers' Elizabeth Girian provided the clincher at No. 5 with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kaitlyn Enloe.
