Zoë Tomlinson, Colorado College, Player of the Week (Week 10)

ZOË TOMLINSON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior center from New York, N.Y., has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 13 through Sunday, January 19. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 10)

Tomlinson had a historic weekend. On Friday, she became the all-time leading rebounder in Colorado College history after grabbing 14 rebounds against Concordia (TX) in a winning effort. On Sunday, she tied her single-game career high in blocks and steals (4), leading the Tigers to a 70-51 over McMurry. For the first time in her career, Tomlinson played back-to-back 30-plus-point games. She finished the weekend averaging a remarkable 35.0 points on a blistering 61.4 precent shooting, 16.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 2.5 blocks, and 2.0 steals per game. She had double-doubles in each game, giving her 11 on the season, tied for third in the country. Tomlinson, who currently ranks fifth in all of NCAA Div. III, averaging 14.0 rebounds per game, is now second in SCAC history with 1,119 career rebounds, just 59 shy of tying current record hold Annie Boune of Southwestern (2011/12—2014/15).

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year forward Shyanne Phillips of Centenary had an impressive week for the Ladies as she averaged 14.3 points per game and 13.3 rebounds per game in three conference contests. Phillips recorded a double-double against Southwestern last Friday with 23 points to lead all scorers along with a game-high 20 rebounds. She then capped the week with 16 points and 12 rebounds on Sunday against TLU for her eighth double-digit scoring performance of the season and sixth double-double. She added two assists, two blocked shots, a steal went 11-14 at the FT line for the week. Senior forward Naomi Smith of Ozarks continues to put up outstanding numbers while leading the Eagles to a tie atop the Blue Division. Smith averaged a double-double over three games (20 pts & 14.3 rebs) and led the Eagles to their 11th win of the season. Smith started the week with 25 points and 15 rebounds in a win against Dallas. In her next game, she had another double-double in a loss against TLU with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Against Southwestern, she poured in 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season. For the week, she hit 50 percent from the field while averaging 2.0 steals per game and 3.7 assists per game. Junior guard Amyia Bowie of St. Thomas helped the Celts to an SCAC split last weekend, falling to McMurry on Friday before knocking off Concordia on Sunday. Bowie averaged 12.5 points on 39.1 percent shooting and added an impressive 7.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game. Senior guard Kaille Mulkey of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 weekend, averaging 12.5 points on an impressive 57.1 percent shooting and added 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game. In the Bulldogs win over Centenary, Mulkey became just the 13th Bulldog in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point career mark.
