Komanduri went a perfect 3-for-3 at the No. 1 singles spot for the Tigers last week. She opened the three-match road trip with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Lewis-Clark State College's Rayana Shah, helping CC to a 4-3 team victory. Komanduri followed that up by defeating Sarah Forester of Linfield University, 6-3, 6-2, and she wrapped up the road trip by rallying to defeat Teleya Blunt of Whitman College, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Cate Cushing of Trinity led the 14th-ranked Tiger women's tennis team to a pair of lopsided wins over the weekend, remaining undefeated with a record of 4-0. Cushing scored a pair of 6-1, 6-0 victories over the weekend, leading Trinity to an 8-1 win over Concordia University (Texas) on Friday, as well as a 9-0 shutout win over Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday. Cushing won at line four against HSU, after winning at line five against the Tornados. Junior Erica Synoski of Southwestern picked up a big win in her singles match against UT-Dallas, defeating the Comets' Elyssa Ducret after going into a tie-breaker, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. Senior Anamaria Gonzalez of St. Thomas, in her first match of the season, defeated Concordia's Kayla Pena in three sets. After taking the first set 6-3 and dropping the second 4-6, Gonzalez took the deciding set, 10-6.
