COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Announced on Wednesday, July 24th, the Colorado College women's basketball team earned the No. 10 rankings in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Rankings for the 2023-24 season.
"Being recognized as an academic leader in the national women's basketball landscape is truly a significant accomplishment – our staff is very proud," head coach Katherine Auguste said. "Every student-athlete in our program gives their all in the classroom and has a genuine passion for their academic pursuits."
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
CC's team GPA was 3.742, the 10th-best among NCAA DIII women's basketball programs. The Tigers had four players be named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, and rising senior Zoe Tomlinson earned numerous Academic All-American honors.
"Colorado College is a rigorous and innovative institution, and seeing our team members consistently support and encourage one another academically, on the court, and as people is inspiring," Auguste said. "Congratulations to each member of our 2024 squad for earning this team honor. A most sincere thank you as well to the WBCA and all of the people within it who work tirelessly to support our game and our student-athletes."
