JOSH WILLIAMS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year from Alexandria, Va., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 13 through Sunday, March 19. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 3
Williams set a school record and finished third in the 200m with a time of 21.71 seconds at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Meet in Pueblo, Colo. His time surpassed the previous mark of 22.18 set by Mike Reed in 2002. Williams finished third in the event at the meet and is currently ranked second in the SCAC. He also placed third in the 100m with a personal-best time of 10.96, which is third-fastest in the conference.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Brian Armijo of Southwestern wrote his name in the Southwestern record book for the third time this year. At this weekend's UT-Tyler Icebreaker Classic, his first shot at the 10k distance, he finished second with a time of 32:10.55, breaking the previous school record by 42 seconds.
