WILL SHUFLIT OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore from Park City, Utah, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 8)
Shuflit placed sixth out of 437 runners at the Augustana Interregional Invitational in a Colorado College program record time of 24:18. The race featured nine nationally ranked teams.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Will Salony of Trinity finished 17th at the Augustana Interregional on Saturday morning, finishing in 24:39.8 for his second-fastest career time in an 8k. He led Trinity to a 23rd-place finish as a team, among a field of 40 teams. Junior Gabriel Sanchez of McMurry led the War Hawk men with a 26th place finish at the Watson Collegiate Classic, covering the eight kilometers in 26.01.4. McMurry finished sixth out of 21 teams. Sophomore Emilio Salas of Southwestern wasn't the team's top finisher this weekend, but he has been the Pirates' most consistent runner all year long. Salas ran 27:01 at the Augustana Interregional Invitational, moving up all the time through the race.
