MILES MONTGOMERY OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior forward from Oakland, Calif., has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 18th.
In the final home game of his career, Montgomery struck for the Golden Goal 18 seconds into overtime to give Colorado College a dramatic 2-1 victory over Austin College. Montgomery scored on a one-time shot into the left side of the net off of a cross from classmate Jackson Silverstein. The win secured the Tigers the No. three seed going into this week’s SCAC Tournament. Montgomery extended his point streak to four games with the first game winner of his career and now has a team leading 12 points.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Luis Green of Texas Lutheran scored on a penalty kick and assisted on the first goal, scored by Nicolas Medina. That Medina goal turned out to be the match-winner. Green's penalty kick conversion came in the 65th minute and made the score 3-0. Green took five total shots and had three shots on goal. Junior midfielder Kyle Davis of Trinity made the most of his first career goal with the eventual game-winner against Schreiner on Saturday.
