ASHLYN MILTON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from Amarillo, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 19 through Thursday, December 22. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 7)
Milton led No. 3 Trinity to a pair of wins over nationally-ranked teams this week, defeating No. 12/16 Mary Hardin-Baylor and No. 14/20 Puget Sound. Milton averaged 23.0 points per game over the two contests, connecting on 18-of-28 (64.3%) from the field overall, and going 7-for-13 (53.8%) from three-point range. Milton also picked up five rebounds in both games and notched five steals in the win over Puget Sound (six total for the week). Additionally, Milton became the 19th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points during the win over Puget Sound.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward Zoe Tomlinson of Colorado College recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and a season-high 18 rebounds in a 70-61 win over Marietta on Monday. She connected on an impressive 9-of-11 from the field. First-year forward Tessa Hastings of Dallas led the Crusaders to a perfect 2-0 week with wins over Hendrix and Occidental. Hastings’ highlight was her 30-point performance in the seven-point win over the Warriors. She connected on 12-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-5 from three.
