MAGGIE ROBBINS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior guard from Plano, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 28 through Sunday, December 4. Robbins continued to improve her game over the weekend as the No. 4/5 Tiges opened SCAC play with road wins over Centenary and St. Thomas. Robbins played just 20.5 minutes per game over the weekend, but still managed to average 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 6.5 steals per game. She was lights-out shooting as well, hitting 12-of-15 from the field that included 4-for-6 from three-point range. Robbins finished the weekend with 17 points and tied her career-high with 10 steals for a unique double-double. She also committed just two total turnovers over the weekend. This season, Robbins is averaging 11.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 4.3 steals per game over nine games. She is currently leading Trinity in rebounds, assists, and steals this year.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard Nariyah Buggs of Schreiner averaged 15.3 points on 41.0 percent (16-of-39) per game in leading the Mountaineers to a 2-1 week, which included two conference wins over St. Thomas and Centenary. Sophomore point guard Ellie Ward of Southwestern led the Pirates to two conference victories this weekend which included a 13-rebound effort against Austin College on Friday. She flipped the script from her previous performance and scored a team-high 14 points while also securing six rebounds in Saturday's 52-50 win at Dallas. Junior forward Imani Hardin of Dallas had a career night for the Crusaders in Saturday's loss to Southwestern. The forward dropped a career-high 17 points, a good chunk of those coming in an electric first half performance where she carried the Crusaders on both sides of the ball. She also snagged 15 rebounds, six shy of her personal best, and tied her career-high with five blocks.
