HAILEY COLEMAN OF THE TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior center from Kansas City, Mo., has been named SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, February 26 through Sunday, February 28.
Coleman recorded her second career 20-point game with 21 points in the Friday-night matchup with Schreiner, then followed up with a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double to seal the weekend sweep of the Mountaineers to set the Tigers up for the SCAC Tournament No. 1 seed.
The center also collected five blocks and four steals evenly split over the weekend. She accomplished her entire stat line while averaging just 20 minutes a contest.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Freshman guard Addy Tremie of Centenary averaged 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Ladies split a pair of games against St. Thomas last weekend. Tremie scored a career-high 21 points in the loss on Friday before leading her team to its first win of the season on Saturday with 17 points and six rebounds. Freshman guard Audrey Bayston of Colorado College averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game to help CC split its final two games of the regular season against Dallas. Bayston scored 18 points during Saturday's 91-65 victory, then came back with 12 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double in Sunday's loss. Freshman guard Anika Herron of Dallas connected on 69.2 percent from long distance over the weekend to help the Crusaders to a weekend split against Colorado College. In the win, Herron connected on 5-of-8 from three and poured in 18 points to go along with four rebounds. Senior guard Zariah McInnis of St. Thomas averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as the Celts split a pair of games against Centenary. McInnis hit the game-winning shot in game one of the double-header to give St. Thomas a two-point victory. Junior forward Morgan Rodriguez of Texas Lutheran averaged 12.0 points and 9.0 rebounds as the Bulldogs swept two home conference games from Austin College over the weekend. In Friday's overtime victory, she scored nine and pulled down 10 rebounds (including five on the offensive glass). In Saturday's win, she scored 15 and shot 55.6 percent from the field (5-for-9). She added eight rebounds and two steals.
