CAMILLE FOWLER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a freshman guard from Helotes, Texas, has been named SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, January 29 through Saturday, January 30.
Fowler helped lead the Crusaders to their first win of the season and complete a 2-0 sweep over Centenary last weekend. It was the team’s first season sweep of a conference opponent since 2016-17 and marked the first time Dallas has earned back-to-back conference wins since the 2015-16 season. Fowler led the team in scoring both nights, averaging 18.5 points per game. She did most her damage from the three-point arc, as she drained four-per-game and shot 61.5 percent overall. The guard also averaged 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per contest.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Freshman guard Abby Tremie of Centenary led the Ladies on the road last weekend against Dallas. Tremie matched her career-high with 18 points on Friday night before accounting for 14 points on Saturday. On the weekend Tremie averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Senior forward McKenzee Gertz of Colorado College averaged 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game while leading the Tigers to a split with Southwestern last weekend. Gertz recorded her 27th career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds on Friday before pouring in a team-high 20 points in the win on Saturday. Junior guard Lauren Fulenwider of Southwestern averaged 19.5 points per game as the Pirates split the series against Colorado College on the road last weekend. Fulenwider poured in 25 points on Saturday with seven three-point field goals hit. Senior post Abby Hroch of Texas Lutheran averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games over the weekend against Trinity. In Friday's contest, she scored 14 and had four rebounds. In the Saturday game, she scored 13 and had nine rebounds. Sophomore forward Ashlyn Milton of Trinity averaged 15 points, shooting 64.7 percent shooting last weekend as the Tigers swept TLU on the road. Milton also added 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game to help Trinity earn two key road wins.
