EM MILLER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Danville, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run from Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 5)
Miller had her highest ever finish, coming in as the third runner in Saturday's race. Due to extremely muddy conditions, she lost both spikes just half a mile into the race and finished out over three miles without shoes. She consistently moved up the field to finish in 23:33.2 and helped to lead Trinity to a 24th place finish out of 43 teams at the Paul Short Invite, Brown division.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Willow Lott of Colorado College finished first among collegiate runners and led the CC women's cross country team to a second-place finish against Division II teams at the Ted Castaneda Classic Saturday afternoon at North Monument Valley Park. Lott, the first Tiger to ever finish at the top among collegiate runners at CC's home meet, covered the 6K course in a personal-best time of 22 minutes, 17.39 seconds. She finished behind an open runner at the meet.
