DANIEL CASTRO OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a junior forward from Pasedena, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 10th through Sunday, October 15th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 7)
Castro was a force for the Celts in a pair of SCAC road victories last weekend, registering a league high five points on two goals and an assist. In Friday’s win over Austin College, Castro netted the game-winning goal and then followed that performance up with a goal and an assist in the Celts win over Dallas on Sunday. Castro is now third in the SCAC in both goals and points with nine and 22 respectively.

Junior forward Louis Catchpole of Austin College moved to the top of the SCAC leaderboard in goals scored over the weekend, notching his 12th of the season in a draw with Centenary. Catchpole was a constant threat throughout the weekend, firing off 14 shots, including putting seven on target in a pair of games. Senior midfielder Hunter Booth of Centenary scored a pair of goals in last Friday’s 3-1 comeback win at Dallas. Booth became the first Gent to score multiple games in a goal this year, tying the match in the 74th minute and then putting away the insurance marker in the 87th minute. Sophomore midfielder Oliver Ramirez of Colorado College registered a goal for the fourth time in five fixtures last Friday, putting away the game-winning goal in the Tigers 1-0 win over Southwestern at home to remain unbeaten in SCAC play. Junior midfielder Louie Instrall of Trinity led the Tigers to a win over Schreiner in its only game of the week, keeping TU tied atop the SCAC table with 12 points. Instrall supplied assists on two of Trinity's three goals on Saturday, including the equalizer just minutes after the Tigers fell behind. He also assisted on the eventual game-winner later in the first half.
